The origin of Nicola coffees dates back to 1779, to one of the most emblematic establishments in Lisbon: Café Restaurante Nicola. This establishment was a meeting place for writers and politicians and for the most famous gatherings in Lisbon. Among these personalities, the poet Bocage stands out. From the beginning, Café Restaurante Nicola had its own batch of coffee, coming from Brazil and São Tomé e Príncipe and marketed under the name Nicola. The conquest of the market, the birth of new habits and the demands in relation to coffee, made it necessary to have control over all stages of production and thus the Venda Nova factory was born. Currently, Nicola is present in the Mass Market (Major Distribution) and Food Service (restaurants, hotels and offices) channels.
