Sonae Sierra, the international shopping centre specialist, has just had three of its shopping centres in Portugal awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. This recognises excellence in the tourism and hospitality sector, and is awarded on the basis of ratings and opinions entered by customers on the TripAdvisor website. It is the first time that Portuguese shopping centres have been recognised, in this case CaiscaiShopping, AlgarveShopping and Centro Vasco da Gama.

CascaiShopping opened to the public in 1991 and has since been an important shopping destination in the Greater Lisbon area. The Centre has 202 shops in an area of 74,000 m2 of GLA, and was visited in 2014 by 12 million people. 85% of the comments registered on TripAdvisor rated it as “Excellent” or “Very Good”.

The Certificate of Excellence is awarded in the categories of accommodation, restaurants and attractions all over the world, that continually provide the best experience to their customers/visitors. To receive the Certificate of Excellence, the establishment needs to keep a minimum overall score of four circles (out of a total of five) and have a minimum number of ratings.
